“These young adults exemplify what it means to be true student athletes by working hard on the field and in the classroom,” said Stoney Creek High School Principal Dr. Cathryn Skedel. “They maintain exceptional grades and challenge themselves in advanced coursework. Our students make us proud, and we support them in all their endeavors both at Stoney Creek High School and beyond.”
By signing a Letter of Intent with established learning institutions, athletes complete the recruitment process in return for financial aid towards academics.
“Athletics can serve as a means to an end by helping students with the expense of college tuitions,” said Shane Redshaw, athletic director for Stoney Creek High School. “Academics is always our top priority.”
“Our outstanding academic curriculum is complemented by our student athletic programs,” said Rochester Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Shaner.
“Athletics help to reinforce our goal of instilling a sense of pride and excellence for our students which can be shared with the community.”
