A New Assisted Living Home Opens in Rochester Hills

Leaving home and for a senior care facility is a weighted decision for our aging parents, relatives and friends. Finding an assisted living center that feels like home for our loved ones can be equally as challenging.

There are several things to consider when selecting the right home for your loved one:

  • Is there a house doctor or doctor on call?
  • Are home cooked meals provided?
  • Does the home have a clean and safe environment?
  • Is the home close by?
  • Does the home offer 24-hour care?
  • What does their emergency response plan entail?
  • Are there particular visitation times?
  • How often will the care team re-evaluate your loved one’s needs?
  • And most importantly, what does your loved one think of his or her potential new residence?

Sunflower Senior Care, LLC: A Home for Your Loved One

This spring, a new senior care home opened in Rochester Hills. Sunflower Senior Care, LLC is snuggly located at 1656 Crooks Road and provides assisted living, memory care and hospice care.

The home is owned by a local family and is designed for a calm and comfortable environment, accommodating a maximum of six residents. The Sunflower Senior Care, LLC team is licensed under the rules of Adult Foster Care in Oakland County and the home is located 2.6 miles from Crittenton Hospital Medical Center.

While the home is new to join the assisted living community, the vision and foundation for what has become Sunflower Senior Care, LLC began more than a year ago. The original mission was to tailor an environment for the owner’s late father to reside comfortably as he suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. The location was a great fit as family lives close by, but devastatingly, he passed prior to the grand opening. So, the refined vision, in the words of Sunflower Senior Care, LLC’s owner, is “to care for the grandmas and the grandpas of this area.”

Assistance with daily tasks, such as bathing and nutrition are vital, but the team knows that support and love is king in the aging process. Family members are always welcome to visit their loved one during their stay at Sunflower Senior Care, LLC.
