On Thursday August 30, from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Grand Traverse Pie Company at Rochester and Tienken Roads will be donating 30% of their proceeds to the Rochester Area Neighborhood House. The National Letter Carriers' 26th Annual "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive, the nation’s largest one-day food collection event designed to help replenish local food banks, is Saturday, May 12. Neighborhood House is the recipient of all food donated in this region (Rochester, Rochester Hills, and Oakland Township). Rochester is marking the 200th anniversary of its founding this year, and local resident Gail Kemler has witnessed almost half of the town’s two centuries of history. Kemler, of Rochester Hills, is planning to celebrate her 100th birthday at the end of this month, in the company of scores of family and friends.
