Adams presents Antigone
Tickets are now on sale for the Adams High School fall play, Antigone. Antigone is based on the Greek tragedy written by Sophocles in the fifth century B.C.E. It tells the story of Antigone, the daughter of Oedipus, and her struggle between her civil duty and her loyalty to family. When Antigone’s brother, Polyneices, is slain, Creon proclaims that his body must remain unburied because Polyneices died in rebellion against the state. New School Year Brings New Principals
When students at seven of Rochester’s school buildings return this fall, they’ll be greeted by new principals. Earlier in the summer, the board of education approved the hiring of Kevin Cumming for Adams High School, Michael Behrman for Van Hoosen Middle School and Rachel Guinn for Hart Middle School. Adams, Brewster and McGregor are “Beating the Odds”
Adams High School, Brewster Elementary School and McGregor Elementary School have been identified in studied conducted by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) as “Beating the Odds.” McGregor was identified as one of 63 schools statewide that is performing above its predicted levels, based on risk factors. Adams and Brewster were identified as two of 72 schools statewide that perform better than a comparison group of schools with similar demographics.
