The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Adams Road from Avon Road to Walton Blvd. in Rochester Hills on Monday, July 13, for guard rail and bank stabilization work. The road is being closed due to its narrowness in this section. Work is being completed by RCOC Highway Maintenance staff. The closure is expected to last approximately two weeks. The Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner's (OCWRC) office has closed Adams Road just north Buell Road in Oakland Township due to flooding that is the result of a drain failure. The detour for the closure is Orion Road to Stoney Creek Road to Adams Road and vice versa. The road will remain closed indefinitely. The contractor for Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC), in partnership with the cities of Auburn Hills and Rochester Hills, expects to begin the resurfacing of Adams Road between South Boulevard and Auburn Road on the Rochester Hills/Auburn Hills border either next Wednesday, Aug. 10, or Thursday, Aug. 11.
