Older Persons' Commission (OPC) members and staff are looking forward to September 3 when the center will be filled with the aroma of baking apples and cinnamon from Apple Pies. The are offering free delivery for the purchase of 6+ pies on September 4. All proceeds will benefit the Meals on Wheels program. The order form is due by September 3. Dear Crabby, I just moved to the area from down south, and I see all these signs and advertisements for cider mills. What is all the hype for? What do these mills have to offer? It just wouldn’t be September in Rochester without Art & Apples. Though beats and eats will be plentiful, it’s art that takes center stage at the annual fund-raiser for Rochester’s nonprofit Paint Creek Center for the Arts. Michigan’s second-largest juried fine-art fair, the festival was ranked in the top 20 fine-art festivals in the U.S. last year by Sunshine Artist magazine.
