The Rochester City Beautiful Commission (CBC) celebrated Arbor Day by planting Autumn Blaze Maple on April 28 at Elizabeth Park. Members of the CBC were on hand for the celebration along with Rochester City Administration, City Council members and the Parks Department. For the 22nd year, Rochester Hills has been named a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation. To become a Tree City USA, a community must meet four standards: a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program and an Arbor Day observance.
