Looking Forward to Winter? Probably not, since summer took a while to get here. However, everyone knows winter will come eventually, and with it, the holidays, the parade, and the Big, Bright Light Show that illuminates 1.5 million lights. Rochester highlights its pride in State of the City address

The 2014 Rochester State of the City address was an evening of familiar faces, mostly good news, laughs, and a lot of hometown pride. Tom Daldin, host of Detroit Public Television’s popular "Under the Radar Michigan" program, welcomed the crowd gathered at the Royal Park Hotel. City of Rochester Updates- from Master Plans to Big Bright Lights!

Rochester’s Planning Commission has begun the task of updating the city’s master plan. Chairman David Gassen said the commission has conducted a survey of city officials, held seven workshops and drafted a vision statement. The first of four opportunities for public input will be scheduled in October. The master plan covers everything from design policy to housing density and parking management.
