The Local Ski Hills Mt. Brighton and Alpine Valley are now closed for the season. Pine Knob and Mt. Holly are still open and plan to be open for this weekend. Try the Mountain I have a soft spot for Boyne Mt. since it is where I learned to ski over 30 years ago and they offer some of the best skiing in the Midwest. However, they offer much more than skiing. They have the Mountain Grand Lodge, golf, a spa and the Avalanche Bay indoor water park. Winter could be found at the ski resorts! Seems like we waited all year for winter and while there were hints of it here in southeast Michigan, Fall really rolled into Spring. However, because snow making is available at all four ski resorts in our area, skiing and snowboarding were going on most of the season.
