Avondale School District Deerfield Elementary fifth-grader Ria Narang traveled to Sarnia, Ontario to compete in the 2016 TGA Junior Golf Invitational with nineteen teammates. Deerfield Elementary Named National Blue Ribbon School
U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr today announced that Avondale School District’s Deerfield Elementary has been named a National Blue Ribbon School for 2016. Only 329 schools across the country and 13 schools from the State of Michigan were chosen for the distinction that recognizes schools achieving very high learning standards or for making notable improvements in closing the achievement gaps among student subgroups. Jump Rope Event Raises Money for the American Heart Association
Avondale School District annual Jump Rope for Heart events raise almost $34,000 More than 1500 Avondale School District elementary students helped raise money and awareness for the American Heart Association (AHA) during the District’s annual Jump Rope for Heart events this school year.
