Stoney Creek’s Compton School’s First State Player of the Year

ROCHESTER HILLS — Devon Compton has had a lot of firsts in her golf career. There’s one that will live in infamy at Rochester Stoney Creek.  Compton was honored Sunday as the 2010 recipient of Miss Golf by the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association, becoming the first Stoney Creek athlete in school history to be named the state’s Player of the Year in her respective sport. “It’s really an honor being named Miss Golf,” offered Compton, who is also a scholar athlete with a 3.8 GPA. … [Read more...]

Stoney Creek Golf Falls Short of Title Goal

YPSILANTI — Saturday was bittersweet for Devon Compton. The senior golfer from Rochester Stoney Creek ended her high school career with an individual state championship, but her team came up an agonizingly three strokes shy of a state title.
