Friends of Rochester Hills Public Library Sponsoring Comerica Park Tour May 30

The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library (RHPL) is sponsoring a tour of Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, on Thursday, May 30. All proceeds will benefit Library programs. The team moved to Comerica Park in 2000 and the tour provides a rare glimpse into the inner workings of the ballpark including the dugouts, the press box, the clubhouse, the Walk of Fame, and more. Spring Used Book Sale at the Library

The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library (RHPL) will give you a great opportunity to add to your personal print and books-on- CD library during the Friends Spring Used Book Sale set for April 24-28. The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library’s sixth annual “Wine, Wit & Wisdom” fundraiser is set for Saturday April 13 Taking place at the Main Library at 500 Olde Towne Road in downtown Rochester, the evening provides a lively mix of sustenance and knowledge. Remember bowling as a kid, an adult or in a league? Remember how much fun it was sharing a day or night at the lanes with friends, family, or co-workers? The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library Store is Looking for Volunteers

Volunteers are “100 percent important because the store is totally run by volunteers,” said store manager Darlene Tomczyk. “Without them there are days the store has to close.” To fully staff the store - three persons per shift, 16 shifts a week - requires 48 workers. The schedules are flexible, which makes it convenient for folks who are looking to stay busy, help one of the areas institutional gems but don’t want a major time commitment. The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library’s Summer Used Book and Media Sale – set for July 25 - 28 and Monday, July 30 – is looking to be a sound and sight spectacular. Bookmobile Back on the Road

The Rochester Hills Public Library (RHPL) is thrilled to announce that our “new” Community Bookmobile is on the road. Since January, the bookmobile has been off the road due to a faulty break system. But in March the RHPL bought and refurbished a used Bookmobile from Coschton, Ohio, that needed a little cosmetic work but is otherwise in great working condition, and as of May 9, the Bookmobile has resumed its journey around the Rochester Hills area.
