The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library (RHPL) is sponsoring a tour of Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, on Thursday, May 30. All proceeds will benefit Library programs. The team moved to Comerica Park in 2000 and the tour provides a rare glimpse into the inner workings of the ballpark including the dugouts, the press box, the clubhouse, the Walk of Fame, and more. Volunteers are “100 percent important because the store is totally run by volunteers,” said store manager Darlene Tomczyk. “Without them there are days the store has to close.” To fully staff the store - three persons per shift, 16 shifts a week - requires 48 workers. Bookmobile Back on the Road

The Rochester Hills Public Library (RHPL) is thrilled to announce that our “new” Community Bookmobile is on the road. Since January, the bookmobile has been off the road due to a faulty break system. But in March the RHPL bought and refurbished a used Bookmobile from Coschton, Ohio, that needed a little cosmetic work but is otherwise in great working condition, and as of May 9, the Bookmobile has resumed its journey around the Rochester Hills area.
