Spring Cider, Fresh at Yates

Once again Yates Cider Mill in Rochester Hills has opened for a spring pressing of fresh apple cider. Open for cider and donuts from April 15 (Tax Day) until May 10 (Mother's Day). Four full weekends to enjoy the tasty treat that usually is only available in the fall. The Ice Cream Olympics are Sunday, August 24, at 7:00 p.m. The Scoop Last year, Rochester College held the Ice Cream Olympics in conjunction with welcoming in their new president, Dr. Tyson. John Tyson replaced Dr. Rubel Shelly, who had served as the institution’s president from 2008 until 2013. Changes at Rochester College Rochester College welcomed its new president on Sunday with an event called Ice Cream Olympics. Dr. John Tyson replaces Dr. Rubel Shelly. Dr. Shelly served as president from 2008 to 2013 and now has assumed responsibilities as chancellor of the college. Dr. Tyson officially started his duties as president on August 1st. A new self-serve frozen yogurt café is coming to Auburn Hills, across from Oakland University in the Auburn Square strip center next to Buddy’s Pizza. The 1,400 sq ft store is currently under construction and is named: CoolYo Frozen Yogurt. CoolYo is expected to open in the spring of 2013.
