Very few of us went to the polls for the General State Primary. And while many races were "Vote for Not More than 1" when only one candidate was running, a few races were contested. Such as in the Charter Township of Oakland. Incumbent supervisor, Terry R. Gonser, lost his bid for re-election to Michael Bailey who took 48% of the vote over Gonser's 26%. Terry Gonser has retired from several previous careers. This month, at the age of 66, he embarks on a new one: Oakland Township Supervisor. “I certainly didn’t need it and it certainly doesn’t pay,” he said Tuesday night as he cruised to victory despite a last-minute write-in campaign by incumbent supervisor Joan Fogler. “I think the reason I did it is for the citizens.
