Painters Margaret Glinke of Shelby Township and Gerry Post of Rochester will be demonstrating and selling their work at this year’s Rochester Area Heritage Festival. The festival is Sept. 25-26 at Rochester College, 800 West Avon in Rochester Hills. Post is known for his paintings of historic buildings. Self-taught Shelby Township artist Margaret Glinke likes to work in layers. In addition to ink drawings, she has developed a layered approach to painting that incorporates sand, powdered marble and cheesecloth imbedded in the acrylics, a process known as impasto.
