Older Person's Commission (OPC) Welcomes Riverstrings June 9 Enjoy a musical evening with Riverstrings on June 9 at 7:00 p.m. to  support Meals on Wheels. This event is open to the public and features a Family Fun Sing-A-Long. Riverstrings is comprised of a group of 27 musicians playing the mountain dulcimer, violin, guitar, banjo, dulciborn, penny whistle, marimbula, bongos and kazoos. The Rochester Community Runs and Walks for Meals

On Saturday, June 4, runners and walkers will take to the starting line at 8:00 a.m. at the Older Person’s Commission (OPC) and travel down the serene Clinton River Trail. The 5K course is flat with only one hill making it the perfect course for any athlete. There is a reduced entry fee for pre-registered participants before June 1: $15 for ages 12 and under and $20 all other participants. Race day entry fee is $25. This past year the Older Persons’ Commission’s (OPC) Meals on Wheels program tirelessly prepared and served 116,151 meals. This astounding number is made possible by the dedication of Becky Wuornos, OPC Nutrition Manager along with OPC staff and volunteers.
