The Oakland Township Safety Paths and Trails Committee invite everyone to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating the opening of the new Cider Mill Connector Safety Path Wednesday, October 5, at 5:00 p.m. Just in time for cider mill season, this recently completed safety path and trail provides an much-needed connection from the Paint Creek Trail to the village of Goodison and eliminates the need to use a very busy vehicular bridge on Gallagher Road. Next Tuesday, Michael Dwyer of Rochester Media, will join The Midweek Meanders walking group to lead a hike in Oakland Township and the Village of Goodison to visit two of the area's cider mills. Square Dancing at Cranberry Lake Farm
In 2012, the Oakland Township Historic District Commission held its first square dance. It was a success. They now offer two per year, usually the third weekend in June and the second weekend in September, most often on a Saturday evening. Oakland Township has a New Manager
On March 16, 2015, Warren Brown started his first day as Township Manager for Oakland Township. He replaces Ann Capela—previous Township Manager of two years—who resigned in September of last year. The Township Board of Trustees had narrowed their search to three candidates in January. Warren Brown, Michael Rogers, and Darrell Fecho were in the running. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) is requesting assistance from the public in identifying the person that committed an Armed Robbery the Subway Sub Shop located at 4890 North Adams Rd. in Oakland Township.
