The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has established a formal detour route for traffic traveling on Orion Road at Dutton Road on the Rochester Hills/Oakland Township border, which remains closed due to damage caused by Wednesday’s flooding. The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC), in partnership with Orion Township has closed the Orion Road/Stoney Creek Road/Conklin Road intersection in the township for safety improvements that include the construction of a roundabout. The intersection will remain closed from August 7 until mid-November. No traffic can get through the intersection during the closure. Rumor Has It … The Orion Road Bridge over the Paint Creek in Oakland Township is near completion. The final layers of asphalt are being laid this week. The original completion date was set for August 1, and then it was changed to August 15. Orion Road Bridge to Close Orion Road will be closed just north of Snell Road to replace the bridge over Paint Creek in the heart of Oakland Township. Starting June 23, the closure will last to approximately August 15 with the complete project wrapping up by September 12. More than 7,000 vehicles cross the bridge every day.
