‘Petticoat Surgeon’ play to debut at Rochester College

Our local history comes to life starting tomorrow when Rochester College debuts the play - Petticoat Surgeon: The Life of Dr. Bertha Van Hoosen, dramatized by Dr. David Keller. Rochester College presents original play about life of Dr. Bertha Van Hoosen

"Petticoat Surgeon: The Life of Dr. Bertha Van Hoosen," an original play based upon the Rochester doctor's 1947 autobiography, will be performed in May and June at Rochester College and the Van Hoosen Museum, according to a press release from the school. Dr. David Keller, dean of Rochester College's School of Humanities, penned the play after reading Van Hoosen's autobiography "Petticoat Surgeon."
