Rochester Hills Public Library Almost Struck by Lightening
About one o’clock this afternoon a tree next to our parking lot, but on library property was struck by lightning. To say the least it scared everyone in the building at the noise was loud and the building seemed to shake. The bookmobiles and cars in the parking lot are undamaged. No one was hurt. After troubleshooting the phone outage issue our IT Manager has discovered that the lightning strike we had this afternoon completely burned out our external phone lines. In response to concerns from residents and business owners about problems with the electrical power supply in the city of Rochester, the city is hosting a meeting with representatives of DTE Energy on Monday, Oct. 3 at the Rochester Hills Library, 500 Olde Towne Road. Tornado Warnings and Power Outages in Rochester
On Thursday, August 19th the Tornado Warnings and Tornado Watches were sent out by the National Weather Service and Nixle in the Rochester area.
