Rachel Jacobs may have been living in Manhattan, but Detroit was always in her heart as evidenced by Detroit Nation, the community-building charity she co-founded. On Tuesday evening, Rachel Jacobs, formerly of Huntington Woods, was on her way home to Manhattan from her job as CEO of the online educational firm ApprenNet in Philadelphia when the Amtrak train she was riding crashed, killing her and seven others and injuring at least 200 passengers.
