Jaycees Announce Return of “Santa’s Mailbox” to Downtown Rochester
Santa's Mailbox is returning once again to Downtown Rochester. Children of Rochester are invited to mail their letters to Santa by depositing them in the mailbox on the corner of 4th and Main Streets from Sunday, December 8 through Thursday, December 19. Children who drop their letters in the box will receive a letter addressed to them from Santa. Rochester Area Jaycees 2013 Senior Easter Basket Project
For many years, the Rochester Area Jaycees have worked in conjunction with the Older Persons Commission to deliver Easter Baskets, filled with food, candy and useful household items, to homebound seniors who live in the Greater Rochester area. Annually the Jaycees budget funds that were raised for this community service project. The group works with the OPC to identify homebound senior citizens who will receive the bags. Registration for the Rochester Area Jaycees' “Safety Town” program, which teaches pre-kindergartners various aspects of life safety, is currently open through the Rochester Enrichment Office. Rochester Hills, MI – June 22, 2011 – Once again this year, the Rochester Area Jaycees will be holding their "Dear Soldier" community service project at the Festival of the Hills fireworks show on Wednesday, June 29th at Borden Park. The Jaycees will host a tent at the Festival of the Hills where community members can stop by and address a patriotic thank you to our troops who are fighting overseas. The Rochester Area Jaycees have local businesses and community leaders to thank for another successful Christmas Shopping Tour on Saturday, December 11th, 2010. The Rochester Area Neighborhood House provided the Jaycees with 32 children who were paired with volunteers to shop for gifts for their family members at Meijer on Rochester Road.
