Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson died at 5:30 a.m. today at his Independence Township home surrounded by family and friends after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 80 years old. Oakland County Teachers to Receive Active Shooter Training

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, Sheriff Michael Bouchard, and Oakland Schools Superintendent Dr. Vickie Markavitch are teaming up to ensure that teachers and staff at schools throughout the county have the training they need should they ever encounter an active shooter. 26th annual Coats for the Cold kicks off

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard is asking the community to go into their closets and donate new or clean, gently used coats as part of the annual Coats for the Cold coat drive, now through November 30th.
