This morning, September 21, 2014 at around 6am in the morning some residents in Rochester Hills awoke to the sound of roofs being torn off, trampolines flying into trees, debris crashing through walls and more as a vicious storm went through the city. Winter Storm Update
Here’s a summary of the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) storm efforts so far. We called in our first trucks at 5:45 last night, and have been out ever since. Between 7 and 8 p.m. we increased our number of trucks out to 46 as the snow picked up. At 9:30, our forecaster informed us that the storm was getting much heavier at this point, which was several hours earlier than previously predicted. Tornado Warnings and Power Outages in Rochester
On Thursday, August 19th the Tornado Warnings and Tornado Watches were sent out by the National Weather Service and Nixle in the Rochester area. The picture attached was taken by Journalist Dan Stickradt of North Oakland Sports while attending a four-way football scrimmage at Oakland University in Rochester Hills.
