Civil War map on sale

This July will mark the 150th anniversary of the formation of the 22nd Michigan Infantry regiment that fought in the Civil War. This Michigan regiment was assembled in Pontiac. Among these patriotic volunteers were men from Rochester and Avon Township. Learn winter survival skills at museum

How would you survive outside in the winter? The Rochester Hills Museum invites you to come by on Monday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m., dressed for the weather, to learn winter survival skills. Learn how to build an igloo-style snow fort and the art of starting a fire without matches. Hot chocolate and snacks will be provided after the outdoor portion of the program. “Driven to Victory” WWII Display at Museum August 28th

The Rochester Hills Museum and the Detroit Arsenal of Democracy Museum present a World War II event on Saturday, August 28 from 9-5 p.m.  Driven to Victory will feature Allied and Axis campsites, military and armored vehicles, weapon demonstrations, and battle reenactments at 12:30 pm and 4:00 p.m.  In addition, there will be displays and vendors selling military memorabilia.
