Meadow Brook’s 44th Annual Holiday Walk
Tour the elegant rooms of the grand manor decorated for the holidays featuring special exhibits celebrating the era of etiquette and the art of gracious living. After the tour, follow the path to Knole Cottage for a storybook adventure, then enjoy treasure and treats at Danny’s Cabin. Kids can also play teddy bear hide-and-seek while touring the mansion. Several teddy bears have escaped in the various rooms and hiding places – can you find them?
At the media preview of the annual Holiday Walk, Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett said “We are blessed to have this [Meadow Brook Hall] in our community.” Barnett encourages those who have not been to Meadow Brook Hall for the Holiday Walk to “Make it a tradition,” as so many others have.
Madelyn Rzadkowolski, Curator, recommends viewing the Vaseline Glass. The glass had trace amounts of uranium added to the mix prior to melting. This was a way to add colorant to the glass and background radiation provides an unique bright green glow under an ultraviolet light. Not to fear, the amounts are harmless.
