The Boogie Woogie Kid at the OPC

The Boogie Woogie Kid, Matthew Ball, is coming to the Older Persons’ Commission (OPC) to help kick off the New Year on Thursday, January 13 from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. An internationally acclaimed performer, Matthew’s high-energy, toe-tapping show will have the audience swinging and swaying with classic Ragtime, Boogie-woogie, Jazz & Blues favorites from the 20’s, 30’s & 40’s.

The pianist/singer/songwriter is described as ‘a boogie-woogie master’ with the “fastest fingers in the Midwest.” His show will be an upbeat program of piano, song, boogie-n-blues and jazz with arrangements of classic American songs like Ain’t Misbehavin, When the Saints Go Marchin In, Over the Rainbow and Basin Street Blues.

As a very special tribute at this event, Presenting Sponsors American House Elmwood and Stone will be hosting a VIP table of veterans to enjoy the show at no charge. As a thanks for their sacrifice and service, American House has graciously invited these brave men and women to enjoy this fun-filled performance.

The show is open to the public, and light appetizers and refreshments will be served along with a cash bar. Tickets are $15 and available by calling 248-659-1029. The OPC is located at 650 Letica Drive, Rochester. For more information, visit opcseniorcenter.org.
