“We’ve all become accustomed to outstanding digital experiences and we definitely want that to be the case with rochesterhills.org,” stated Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “For example, with just over one-half of our visitors coming to our site through mobile devices, we worked to improve the way in which our site renders when using smaller screens. The City incorporated a modern responsive web design that automatically adapts and optimizes to any screen size.”

The content of the site is resident and services focused and is prioritized based on historical traffic patterns, with higher traffic content featured more prominently.  In addition, the new layout minimizes and simplifies the use of text and provides for bolder images that underscore the beauty, splendor and personality of the community. The citizen-centric approach also emphasizes the importance of search.

Importantly, the site increases ADA accessibility and can now be translated to any one of 79 languages through toggling the language tab at the top of each page. In addition, the social platforms on which the City is active – Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn – are all visible and can be easily accessed at the top of each page.

“I’m thrilled with the outcome. Special thanks go to the web development team at the City and to employees within every department who provided input and assisted with content creation and updates to the redesigned site,” said Barnett.
