Forever known in the Rochester Hills area for their Marty Salad, family atmosphere, and the model train circling the entire restaurant- The Family Buggy has announced they will close their doors permanently.
WXYZ.com stated:
“The Family Buggy is closing its doors after 44-years in business. The Buggy is loved for its home cooking, real mashed potatoes and family atmosphere.
The owners say the economy is the culprit just as it has been in the past. The Detroit location closed in 1986 and locations in Rochester Hills and Livonia have also since closed.
Friends, ex-employees and well wishers lined up around the building to get a final taste of Buggy and say goodbye to the staff and the owner.
The Family Buggy will close at 9:00 pm on Sunday, January 9 th.”

My family and children grew up going to Family Buggy restaurant, Rochester Hills, Michigan.
The best homemade food and and ever present, friendly atmosphere and staff.
My kids never forget the train that went around the inside of the restaurant and the gigantic bear that came to sit at family’s table upon request, as it was available.
