The Pontiac Creative Art Center Celebrates National Arab-American Heritage Month
The Pontiac Creative Arts Center (PCAC) invites the public to an artist reception to celebrate National Arab-American Heritage Month on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. “The Forgotten Traveler” exhibition embraces Ibn Battuta’s idea that we are all travelers on a journey guided by our faith towards an authentic life.
The show runs April 1-29 and includes oil paintings, photographs, ceramics, mixed media, charcoal drawings, and aquatint print making.
Music and food will accompany the collection of art as an opportunity to introduce visitors to a wider diversity of Arab-American cultures. The Pontiac Creative Arts Center is located at 47 Williams Street, at Lawrence Street, in Pontiac. Featured artists include:

Musical performances include Pianist Zainab Nehlawi from Ann Arbor, Oud player Brian Boulus from White Lake, and Rapper Omar Aburashed from West Bloomfield. Arab food and sweets, as well as soft drinks will be offered.
Admission is free. Sales of the art will benefit the Pontiac Creative Art Center. Visitors may use the PCAC parking lot off W. Pike Street, as well as street parking is available.

The Pontiac Creative Arts Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving North Oakland County with art education, art programs, and exhibitions.
