ROCHESTER, MI – Crittenton Hospital Medical Center’s Healing Arts Series brings an innovative program featuring speakers who will explore the non-traditional ways in which one’s environment – through art, design, architecture and natural elements – can aid in the process of fully healing the body, mind and spirit.
The second of a three part series, “Healing through Spaces” welcomes David Jaeger, AIA, Principal and Design Director at the architectural firm, Harley Ellis Devereaux. He leads design for their healthcare studio across three geographic regions, building a national practice in every aspect from strategic planning through detailed design. David has been practicing healthcare design for over 28 years. He has been active regionally and nationally, with several speaking engagements primarily focused on the interrelationship of environmental design and better clinical and experiential outcomes. David is also a professor at the University of Detroit Mercy College of Architecture as well as the College of Health Professions.
“Healing through Spaces” will be held on Thursday, March 24th at 7:00 pm in the Crittenton Hospital Medical Center Lobby. This program is free of charge and open to the community. Please call (248) 652-5345 or email FoundationEvents@crittenton.com for reservations. More information can be found at http://www.crittenton.com/healing-arts.
The Crittenton Foundation is hosting the three-part series in the midst of a community-wide fundraising effort, named the Cornerstone Campaign, to build a new five-story patient tower. The tower will add approximately 173,000 square feet of needed space and 90 private patient rooms. Harley Ellis Devereaux has been chosen to design the new patient tower for Crittenton.
“We are thrilled to host David Jaeger’s presentation on design and architecture in healthcare spaces, especially because these philosophies are an integral part of the design process for Crittenton’s new tower,” says Katy Olsen, Crittenton Foundation President.
