The Kit & Kaboodle on Kit Homes

The Rochester Hills Public Library will host “The Kit & Kaboodle on Kit Homes” with Ron Campbell of Oakland County’s Economic and Community Affairs division on Tuesday, February 18, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the library’s Multipurpose Room.

The early part of the twentieth century saw an American phenomenon in housing choices and ways to build houses. The automobile assembly line in manufacturing was extended to home-building. Never before was there such a choice in housing for the average person. From planned communities to mail-order houses, families could find ways to achieve the American dream.

Campbell will tell the fascinating story about the creation of these houses and their ongoing legacy.

Registration is open to library cardholders.
