The Michigan Fallen Heroes Memorial Annual September 11th Ceremony
Special tribute will be paid to fallen police officers and firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting and serving the public. Also, Capital improvements to the Memorial itself, including a weatherproof shelter and new signage will be unveiled.

Please join members of the police and fire community for this special ceremony dedicated to Michigan’s Fallen Heroes. The names of Michigan’s fallen officers who died in the line of duty over the past year are being added to the granite wall and will be unveiled at this special ceremony. These fallen officers include:
Corporal Jammie B. Smith – Wayne County Sheriff’s Office
Officer James D. Bonneau – Jackson Police Department
Officer Brian Huff – Detroit Police Department
Officer Matthew Edwards – Taylor Police Department
Additionally, three Fallen Heroes from years past are being added to the wall from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Border Patrol.
Many survivors of Michigan’s Fallen Heroes will be in attendance to remember their loved ones and to pay special tribute to their lives of service. Please join us for this memorable and moving event.
