Ten Michigan children suffering from life threatening illnesses will aside their worries out to model holiday fashion at The Rainbow Connection ‘Celebration of Dreams’ on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Petruzzello’s in Troy. The party begins at 5 p.m., and tickets are just $75 each.
“The ‘Celebration of Dreams’ is an especially magical time for The Rainbow Connection” explains Executive Director Mary Grace McCarter. “It is our opportunity to celebrate the children with new and old friends. As the warmth and love of the holiday season surrounds us we give thanks for all we have accomplished throughout the year and the wonder of the children we are here to help.”
The press release went on to state that this festive kickoff to the holidays includes lots of unique gift buying at the silent auction featuring over 100 items, great food and holiday cheer. The highlight of this early evening event is most certainly the Wish child fashion show. Each child will strut his or her stuff in both a dressy and a casual outfit, generously donated by Wal-Mart. A wonderful time is guaranteed, especially when the personalities come out to play on the runway!
In addition to making dreams come true for Michigan children with life threatening illnesses, The Rainbow Connection provides support services, information and referral, special holiday get-togethers and picnics, and college scholarships for wish children. The Rainbow Connection has been awarded the top rating by Charity Navigator again this year.
