The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm will be hosting a lecture series, A Salute to Veterans, on the first three Thursdays of November.  The lectures will be held from 7-9 p.m. in the Van Hoosen Dairy BarnMuseum members and students are free, non members $5, Seniors/Veterans $3.  Please call to register at 248.656.4663 rhmuseum@rochesterhills.org

Nov. 4- Afghanistan Veteran Steve Mrozek

Join Steve Mrozek as he speaks about his 12 month service in Afghanistan. He will be presenting on the people/culture and will provide insight about his mission to train, mentor and advise the Afghan Police in the Logar Province. He will also share pictures and equipment from his experience abroad.

Nov. 11- WWII Presentation hosted by Frank Cardimen

Join Frank Cardimen as he shares insight into the Normandy invasion – the deception plan Fortitude and the breaking of the German’s Enigma Code at Bletchley Park. Mr. Cardimen has studied and travelled extensively throughout Europe and has interviewed numerous veterans who were at Normandy. His multimedia presentation brings the past to life and focuses on the successful events during the greatest invasion in military history!

Nov. 18- Civil War Battlefield Tactics by Lowell Hamilton

Join Lowell Hamilton as he recreates Civil War battlefield tactics while using metal war gaming miniatures historically positioned on a terrain board. Coupled with his military experience and education, the presentation is sure to heighten your appreciation of our forefathers as we approach the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War.

The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is a 16 acre complex of buildings and grounds listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The Museum is located on Van Hoosen Road, south of Tienken Road and one mile west of Rochester Road.
