The Rochester Symphony Orchestra (RSO) directed by Conductor and Music Director Maestro Zeljko Milicevic, opens their 2024-2025 Season as part of the Rochester Kiwanis Club’s “Music in the Park Concert Series.”

Join our fantastic music community on Thursday, July 25 at 7:00 p.m. in Rochester Municipal Park as the RSO presents an evening of enchanting music under the stars. Bring your lawn chairs, snacks, sodas, and your friends and family to enjoy “SUMMER SPECTACULAR.” Admission is free.

The program begins with the National Anthem featuring baritone, Larry Hice, and as always, we will celebrate our Armed Forces with a special tribute. The RSO’s tribute includes the “Armed Forces Salute,” Arr. Bob Lowden and always a favorite, John Phillip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever.”

Maestro Milicevic will conduct such favorites as Rogers and Hammerstein’s “South Pacific,” John William’s “Olympic Fanfare and Theme” from the 1983 L.A. Olympics, and the familiar “Blue Tango” by Leroy Anderson. Classical gems, Dvořák’s “Slavonic Dances” and Shostakovich’s “Festive Overture” will delight during the first part of the evening and a salute to Cole Porter will conclude the evening’s entertainment.
