Rochester Symphony Orchestra Unleashes CULTURAL INFUSION

The Rochester Symphony Orchestra invites guests to experience CULTURAL INFUSION, a concert that features a variety of musical selections intended for a broad audience and occurs on Friday, May 30, at 8:00 p.m. Led by conductor and music director Maestro Zeljko Milicevic, the performance takes place at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, located at 620 Romeo Road, Rochester, Michigan.

The concert begins with “Finlandia,” a symphonic poem composed by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, originally created around 1900, followed by showcasing the remarkable abilities of thirteen-year-old cellist Cameron Renshaw, who earned the title of winner in the 2025 Young Artist Competition. His performances are noted for their depth and expressiveness, displaying a level of musical maturity uncommon for his age.

Following his appearance, the program will transition to the works of Aaron Copland, a prominent figure in American classical music, celebrated for compositions that capture a distinctly American essence through their thematic and harmonic elements. The concert will also include Morton Gould’s “American Salute,” a piece inspired by the traditional patriotic melody “When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again,” known for its spirited and engaging arrangement.

Additionally, attendees will hear from the Terry Lower Trio, accompanied by vocalist Edye Evans Hyde, a group with a rich history spanning over forty years. Their collective experience encompasses a wide range of musical settings, from small-scale jazz performances to large symphony collaborations and appearances at notable jazz festivals.

Tickets for this event are set at $30 for adults and $5 for students, making it accessible to a broad audience. They can be purchased online via the Rochester Symphony website or by contacting the Box Office directly at 248-651-4181 for reservations or further details.
