The Village of Rochester Hills Celebrates 20th Anniversary with a Grand Celebration

Cheers to 20 Years

Robert B. Aikens and Associates, owners of The Village of Rochester Hills, Michigan’s premier outdoor lifestyle shopping center, will be commemorating the center’s 20th Anniversary September 24, 2022 with a grand celebration “Cheers to 20 Years.”

Twenty years ago, Robert B. Aikens and Associates redeveloped the original Meadowbrook Mall site and Michigan’s first lifestyle concept, and The Village of Rochester Hills opened its doors to the community. The Village currently offers a vibrant downtown shopping experience which includes a curated mix of retailers, cafés and restaurants, convenient parking, and community events in an inviting outdoor atmosphere. The center features walkable streets, sidewalks, a gazebo and several gathering spaces for concerts and family fun.

Today, Von Maur and Whole Foods Market anchor the 375,000 square foot outdoor center, along with over fifty top retailers, local boutiques, restaurants, and fitness and spa destinations. The center continues to offer community events, including their signature Light the Village event which kicks off the holiday festivities for over 30,000 guests each year. The Village supports local charitable organizations with community fundraisers, in-store shopping events, outdoor children’s programs and concerts. The retail lineup continues to evolve as new retailers enter the market, including the recently opened Shake Shack, Sundance Catalogue, American Eagle, Lenscrafters, and Pandora store.

As they enter the 20th year, The Village of Rochester Hills and The Aikens Family invite the community to celebrate “Cheers to 20 Years” with a celebration on September 24, 2022. Activities will include a full day of entertainment and family fun, free treats, giveaways, store discounts, a beer garden in Festival Park, and more. Headlining the evening festivities is a free concert by The Mega 80’s, Detroit’s Premier 80’s retro multi-media experience. According to The Mega 80’s website, the band is known to bring back all the fads in one killer live performance.  “This day long celebration is a gift from the shopping center to the community and we hope everyone can join us for a fun day of shopping, dancing, and dining,” stated Pamela Linder, Marketing Director for Robert B. Aikens and Associates.
