The Women’s Fund is looking for non-profit organizations that are in need of assistance and can benefit from their grants. The Women’s Fund provides grants to local non-profit organizations throughout Oakland County that help improve the lives of women in need. Their goal is to help women in need become financially independent and to have a “purse of their own.”
Grants are awarded once a year and applications must be submitted by October 13 to be considered. Requests for funding must be submitted on a Women’s Fund Grant Application. For grant requests of $1000 or less, use the Short Form Application and for grant requests in excess of $1000, use the Long Form Application.
In 2016, The Women’s Fund awarded grants that empowered women in need with job seeking & job keeping skills, education, specialized training, work-related clothing, and women’s health support.
Over the past 17 years, the Women’s Fund has donated more than $300,000 to organizations helping women. The fund is a permanently endowed fund owned and administered by the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester. Through grant-making, the Fund provides ongoing and future support for programs that aid women while preserving and managing its donations in perpetuity by spending only the fund’s income and annual earnings.
