The Women’s Fund Mid-Summer Soirée Was a Good Time for a Good Cause

On July 12, The Women’s Fund hosted their annual “Mid-Summer Soirée” at the beautiful Arteva’s Idea Show House located at 1021 Clear Creek Drive in Rochester Hills.

The celebration was for a good cause and the proceeds will support The Women’s Fund endowment, providing grants and scholarships for women in need throughout Oakland County. The Women’s Fund assists women in crisis and works with local non-profits to empower women to strengthen their lives through focused programs and academic scholarships.

The event was chaired by Women’s Fund Board members Barb Cenko and Maria Trahan and was attended by a houseful of supporting and caring community members.

The Women’s Fund President, Lori Roscoe, took a few moments to share the successes of the fund over the past year, which included providing grants to organizations who support programs assisting women in our community: helping victims of domestic assault; emergency assistance-homelessness, violence and financial; healthcare screening for uninsured women; family crisis assistance due to catastrophic illness; job seeking & retraining initiatives; training for self-sufficiency; assistance for seniors with needed home repairs and scholarship funding for two high school seniors.

Roscoe also provided an updated on their 2020 Vision Endowment Campaign, to raise the endowment fund to $1,000,000 by the year 2020, encouraging more people to become Partners of the fund, with a $1000 donation or becoming members of the Legacy Circle with donations of $5000 on up to $20,000.

Guests had a chance to tour more than 7,000 square feet of inspired architecture and cutting-edge design. Highlights include an exciting indoor sports arena in the lower level, amazing floating cantilevered circular study, the ultimate living kitchen with all new integrated Sub-Zero refrigeration, Wolf cooking technologies and many more innovations.
