The Women’s Fund recently presented Shelly Tyshka, Executive Director of Paint a Miracle, with a check for $1,000 for their Scholarship Fund
Paint a Miracle is a non-profit art studio and gallery uniquely designed for children and adults living with disabilities. In addition, The Women’s Fund grant will provide opportunities for low-income women living with disabilities to participate in an art class and exhibit and sell their work.
Paint a Miracle Art Studio opened its doors in 2002 and maintains an art studio and gallery in downtown Rochester at 400 Water Street. The art work, in a variety of mediums, including painting and drawing, ceramics and fiber arts, is exhibited and sold in the Paint a Miracle gallery and throughout the community.
“We are absolutely thrilled to receive this grant from the Women’s Fund. Because of your generosity, we are able to offer low income women with disabilities the opportunity to create, exhibit, and sell fine art, as well as the opportunity to become part of a supportive and inspiring community of artists,” said Shelly Tyshka, Executive Director of Paint a Miracle.
The Women’s Fund is a permanently endowed fund owned and administered by the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester. Through grant-making, the Fund provides ongoing and future support for programs that aid women while preserving and managing its donations in perpetuity by spending only the fund’s income and annual earnings.
