On December 20, Rochester Rotary Charities, the non-profit element of the Rochester Rotary Club, made three different donations to local causes totaling over $10,000.
As part of an ongoing commitment to the Rochester Area Neighborhood House, Dr. Jay Eastman, President of Charities and former Rochester Rotary President, presented Kathy Losinski, Executive Director of Neighborhood House, with a check for $5,000. Minutes later, Dr. Eastman also presented Mary Lee Kowalczyk, Executive Director of Rochester Community House, with a check for $5,000.

The third and final gift was particularly special. At local Rochester Adams High School, the Interact Club, a youth extension of Rotary, asked Rochester Rotary Charities if they would match any funds raised to help classmates in need. They worked hard this fall to raise $200 for two fellow students and their President, JP Hodges, came forward to receive a matching gift, of $200.

“We value the opportunity to support the Rochester Neighborhood House and Community House,” said Dr. Eastman. “They are long-standing pillars of the Rochester community and, for decades, have provided much needed assistance to so many of our neighbors and friends.” Dr. Eastman continued, “And to see that same compassion and generosity initiated by our youth is really wonderful. It points to a very bright future.”
Rochester Rotary is a local member club of Rotary International, a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service and encourages high ethical standards in all vocations.
