Kids are encouraged to dress-up and Trick-or-Treat Downtown from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Nearly 50 businesses will participate in Trick-or-Treat and the participating businesses will be marked with window signage.
At 5:15 p.m., kids can meet for the Costume Parade at the public parking lot at the corner of Water Street and University. They will be joined by a police car and fire truck, and precede south on Water Street and end at the Rochester Fire Department.
Stop by the Rochester Fire Department after Trick-or-Treat for firehouse fun, a spaghetti dinner and open house benefiting Rochester Area Youth Assistance. The dinner will run from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the door and cost $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and younger. A free craft activity will also be available for kids at the Fire Department in the conference room.
The Halloween edition of Movies in the Moonlight is located in the parking lot at the corner of E. Third & Water, one block east of Main. Ghostbusters (1984) begins at dusk (around 6:30 pm). Admission is free, so arrive early for the best seating. Movies in the Moonlight is BYOC (Bring Your Own Chairs). Food and drinks will be available for purchase provided by The Meeting House, but you are welcome to bring your own. The Detroit Ghostbusters will also be making an appearance before the movie. You will have the opportunity to take photos with Ghostbusters and Ecto-1 before the movie.
