Readership Area Hit Twice on Monday by Robberies
Oakland Township – Armed Robbery – Oakland County Sheriff Office (OCSO)
Deputies responded to the Subway located at 4834 Adams Road for an Armed Robbery that had just occurred. The clerk indicated that a black male entered the store wearing a construction style outfit and had a dust mask partially covering his face. The subject placed an order with the clerk for a sandwich. As the clerk began to prepare the sandwich, the subject produced a semi-auto handgun, racked it and demanded the money from the register. The suspect than exited the store and fled on foot with the money from the cash register with approximately $200 cash, his Subway Sub sandwich and two cookies.

Deputies responded to the scene and established a perimeter. Two OCSO K-9 Units arrived on scene and conducted a K-9 track. The K-9 units tracked the suspect to the rear of the shopping center where it is believed that the subject had a vehicle waiting for him. The suspect was not located. Detectives arrived on scene. An Evidence Technician was requested to process the scene. Detectives are continuing with the investigation.

Rochester – Bank Robbery – Rochester Police Department
At 2:20 p.m., officers responded to a hold-up alarm at the Alliance Catholic Credit Union at 912 N. Main. On arrival officers made contact with the credit union employees who advised that they had been robbed and the subject had left the scene. Officers secured the scene and attempted to locate the subject.

Rochester Police K-9 was called to the scene and tracked east from the area but was not able to locate the suspect. The department received assistance from the FBI and Crime Lab Techs from the Oakland County Sheriff’s office who responded to assist with evidence collection. The subject produced a note implying a weapon. No weapon was seen. There were no injuries to anyone on the scene.
The suspect is described as a White Male late 20’s to early 30’s, 6’ to 6’3” tall with a medium build. He was wearing a red baseball hat with a black brim with white lettering, a white undershirt, with a gray zip-up hoodie, jeans and black shoes.
