Used Book Sale Runs Until Monday

The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library’s Summer Used Book Sale is set for July 24 – 27 and Monday, July 29.

The sale is at the library building at 500 Olde Towne Road in downtown Rochester. It will be located in the library’s second floor addition in the space dedicated to the Friends’ used media operation.

Other reasons to stop by? CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes, board game and puzzles are also offered. That’s in addition to over 35,000 hardcover and paperback books. Most books will go for $1 for hardcover and large softcover and 50 cents for small paperbacks. The DVDs go for $2, CDs & VHS cassettes for 50 cents; board games and puzzles also economically priced. All children’s books are 50 cents except for a small number of like-new books that are priced slightly higher. Because the library is closed on Sundays in the summer, the Bag Day (all the items you can place in a large paper grocery bag for $5) will be Monday July 29. Come early for the best selection.

Saturday, July 27: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Monday, July 29: 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Bag Day (explained above)

Library patrons throughout the year donate most of the books and other sales material. Proceeds from the event go to the Friends, the Library’s primary volunteer support group. The Friends, in turn, fund many library needs and improvements beyond its public budget provided by Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Twp.
