The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm will serve as the home field for another season of vintage baseball featuring the Rochester Grangers Vintage Base Ball Club. Home matches will be held on May 15, June 19 and June 23 at 7:00 p.m., July 31, August 6 and 28. Weekend matches start at 1:00 p.m. Admission is free to the matches and the Van Hoosen Dairy Barn and local history exhibits are open during the matches. In addition, every guest can have a complimentary hot dog after each match and run the bases. Please bring your own chair or blanket.
Vintage Base Ball Games come to Rochester Hills Museum
Vintage base ball captures the start of base ball fever in the United States during and after the Civil War. Matches are played according to the rules of the early 1860s, which means no gloves and exceptional gentlemanly behavior. Matches are nine innings, pitchers throw underhanded, and various terminology harkens back to the early days of this national past time. The Rochester Hills Museum is located at 1005 Van Hoosen Road, off Tienken Road between Rochester and Dequindre Roads.
