Vintage base ball match at Rochester Hills Museum on Thursday night!

A great way to kick off the summer season is by watching the Rochester Grangers play base ball the way is was played in 1865! The Grangers will play the Port Huron Welkins on Thursday, June 12 at 7:00 p.m. on the Rochester Hills Museum grounds. Admission is free, and guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or their own chair.

Vintage base ball captures the national past time as it evolved after the Civil War. Games are still nine innings long but emphasis is placed on gentlemanly behavior, under handed pitching, and bare handed playing.
After the match, guests can enjoy Museum exhibits and refreshments provided by the Rochester Grangers. A complete list of Rochester Granger matches can be found on their website at www.rochestergrangers.org.
The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is a 16-acre complex of historic buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  It is located at 1005 Van Hoosen Road, off Tienken Road between Rochester and Dequindre Roads.
