Women’s Alliance of Oakland County Introduces Business Protocols for Success

A Unique Training Program for Women

On Friday, November 13, 2015, the Women’s Alliance of Oakland County will host Business Protocols for Success, an innovative training program designed to help women at all stages of their career excel in the professional world. The conference will be held at the Auburn Hills Marriott Centerpoint, located at 3600 Centerpoint Parkway in Pontiac, Michigan.

Business Protocols for Success will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and includes an interactive presentation, small-group activities, self-assessments, and a luncheon with dining etiquette instruction. The goal of the conference aligns with the mission of the Women’s Alliance of Oakland County, a non-profit organization committed to seeking, developing and supporting career opportunities for women. Attendees will learn how to improve their professional communication skills, and develop successful workplace behaviors. They will be empowered with techniques to build personal and professional confidence.

According to facilitator Joscelyn Davis, president and chief strategist of JADE Strategies, “Business Protocols for Success provides training on the essential skills all women need to be successful in the workplace. Helping women overcome obstacles to economic empowerment is the mission of this program.”

The conference includes a panel discussion featuring industry leaders Shelia Sky Kasselman, founder of Sky Foundation; the Honorable Judge Denise Langford Morris of the Oakland County Circuit Court and Marlene Stone, President and CEO of Intellitrends, who will share insights and lessons learned on their paths to leadership. A highlight of the event will be the Women’s Alliance’s first-ever Glass Ceiling Award™, a special recognition honoring a professional who personifies the key attributes of leadership: strength, intelligence, and grace.  This year’s award recipient will be the Honorable Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence.

Oakland County Commissioner Marcia Gershenson, currently serving as the ex-officio representative to the Women’s Alliance of Oakland County, said, “Business Protocols for Success targets all populations within our county, including the low income and underemployed, those starting or transitioning their careers, and established professionals looking to advance their skills. We’ve partnered with several community organizations to help reach those who need the program most.”

General admission tickets are $40 and $28 for full-time students and senior citizens. To register, visit: WAofOC.Eventbrite.com.
