Looking for a day of relaxation and diversion from a stressful week? Come and experience the peace and serenity that yoga can help you achieve during Yoga Day at the OPC on Saturday, October 17. Yoga Day, sponsored by Boulevard Health Center, is a special community event for yogis of all ages and skill levels.
Why do so many people enjoy yoga? Yoga is the ability to de-stress the mind and body through meditation, and physical postures and exercises which helps us strengthen our body and mind. Besides helping improve your strength, flexibility and balance, yoga has been found to decrease stress levels, blood pressure and heart rate (National Institute of Health, 2013).
Yoga Day will be comprised of three, one hour and fifteen minute yoga classes with the first one beginning at 9 a.m. Each class will feature a different type of yoga practice. All participants are highly encouraged to pre-register for the event.
Class prices are as follows: 3 classes for $25 or 1 class for $10. A light snack will be provided and door prizes will be awarded. Please bring a yoga mat, water and blanket.
