Library Lobby

The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public are sponsoring a special sale of children’s and young adult books.  The books are for young people ages eight and up, and have not previously been for sale.  They will be priced at fifty cents per book.  Whether you’re looking for a good read, or a great gift, drop in to get wonderful prices on children’s and Young Adult books.

Miz Rosie returns to share her spirit and renowned sound  as she present a special program for all ages that highlights America’s culture and history of music.  The current We the People theme “Voice of the Century”” will be presented through stories, interactive and musical numbers. Join in the fun as we explore many instruments and the voice of Marian Anderson.  Online registration begins April 9.

Visit the Story Room to play a game or make a craft during Turn Off  the TV week.  You can bring a favorite game from home or enjoy one of ours. Bring your family and friends as we enjoy an evening with no TV, video games or Internet.  Online registration begins April 12.  Please register everyone attending.

Do boys and girls learn differently?  How can I nurture attachment and bonding with boys?  How do I deal with challenging issues with boys?  What does a supportive environment for boys look like?  If you are asking these questions, this event is for you!  Increase your awareness of boys:  how they learn, how to handle them based on research, and how to create the ultimate environment that supports boys’ needs with presenter Daniel Hodgins.  Dan’s interactive style is both informative and entertaining.  This is a program you don’t want to miss!

About The Speaker:

Daniel Hodgins  is an exceptional teacher and presenter. Dan has authored a new book titled:  Boys: Changing the Classroom, Not the Child. He has a unique grasp of children and families learned from his 30 plus years experience in the field of early childhood education.  Dan recently retired as Coordinator of Early Childhood Education at Mott Community College.
